Private Lessons

Sandi Wilson is currently teaching private lessons for children ages 4-12 on Drumset, Hand Drums, and Percussion. Every lesson she teaches is individually tailored for each student. The student is encouraged to develop and bring out their own voice and style. Students learn music rhythms while playing fun games, and Sandi uses play along audio tracks in many different styles that the students play along with. They learn a basic beat they can play, how the rhythm breaks down, and some fun fills. The student will get individually customized practice exercises and games that relate to the play along track. The student is also encouraged to bring out their own voice by playing what they want to play with the audio track. Sandi always enjoys hearing what the children love to play and why they are excited about music and drums. Through this process the student is playing as soon as possible while learning basic rhythms in a way that's easy to understand.

Children's Drum Instructor Sandi Wilson

"Music has always been an important part of my life. As a kid I always looked for any solo contest or festival I could be involved in. I started playing the Flute in 6th grade. I played first Alto Sax in the high school Jazz Band. I started playing the French Horn in 11th grade. In 12th grade I made the Oregon All State Band on French Horn. I received a partial Music Scholarship for Clackamas Community college and was able to study music before moving to CA. After moving to CA I met my husband we started a family and have five children. While raising my children as a stay at home Mom I continued studying music privately. I studied drums and bass guitar and my kids are all involved in music". Read Sandi's full bio.
