Sandi Wilson: Children's Drum Instructor

"Music has always been an important part of my life. As a kid I always looked for any solo contest or festival I could be involved in. I started playing the Flute in 6th grade. I played first Alto Sax in the high school Jazz Band. I started playing the French Horn in 11th grade. In 12th grade I made the Oregon All State Band on French Horn. I received a partial Music Scholarship for Clackamas Community college and was able to study music before moving to CA.
After moving to CA I met my husband we started a family and have five children. While raising my children as a stay at home Mom I continued studying music privately. I studied Drums and Bass Guitar. My kids are all involved in music and I volunteer in their school band percussion section. One of my daughters is a top student at San Diego Drumset & Percussion Lessons. I teach Youth Bands and set up and run the Music at Youth Camps. When the youngest of my kids started school I studied Recording Arts at Mira Costa College. I now own and run my own Recording Studio. I’m involved in many productions either performing, setting up and running the sound, or recording the event. I am currently the Sound Engineer for San Diego Center For The Arts. I study Drums and Music Theory with Jeanette Kangas, the founder of San Diego Drumset & Percussion Lessons, and teach the Children’s Drum program at San Diego Drumset and Percussion Lessons. I enjoy all aspects of music and think that all kids should have the opportunity to play and enjoy music."
